1.) God Makes You Holy = 1Thessalonians 4:3-5
I belong to Him now, and wish to do what He wants.
There are things that I must do if I am to demonstrate what God has done in my life.
Learn how to control your desires that they may be expressed in alignment with God’s purpose.
It is not what we do to become holy; it is something we do because we are holy.
Exodus 3:5, Isaiah 6:3, Matthew 14:19b-20, John 14:17, 1Corinthians 6:18-20
His presence in you makes you holy; the holiness you possess is because He lives in you.
2.) God Calls You To BE Holy = 1Thessalonians 4:7
He saves us by His grace, for His purpose, and that is to be holy.
We are talking about becoming greater and more perfectly aligned with God.
Every Christian is called to be holy.
Holy living means I don’t get to do everything I want to do.
Every step of obedience is a step into greater alignment with God, and every step of disobedience is a step out of alignment with God.
3.) Being Holy Is Something To Pursue = Hebrews 12:14, Matthew 5:8
What God requires in you He will do; our responsibility is to align ourselves with that process.
Our growth in holiness is something we participate in.
Every choice we make puts holiness on the line.
God makes you holy, but what are you doing with what God has given you?
4.) Holiness Will Be Evident = 2Corinthians 7:1
A holy life will show.
Pursuing holiness, being holy because He makes us holy, is a radical departure from the world around us.
Holiness is not something to be afraid of; it is something to embrace, pursue and live to the fullest.
