Matthew 24, Genesis 5:24, 2Kings 2:11-12
God can take people out of this world into the next at His discretion.
1.) What is the Rapture? = Matthew 24:36-44
Jesus IS coming back.
Acts 1:10-11, 1Corinthians 15:50-52, Revelation 19:11-21, 1Thessalonians 4:13-18
When the Bible is clear, we can be clear.
There are two events described in these passages.
There are differences of opinion on the interpretation of these passages.
Isaiah 11:12, Jeremiah 30-31, Amos 9:14-15, 1Thessalonians 4:17
The Greek word is “harpazo”, meaning “caught up, snatched away, or taken by force”.
2.) Three Primary Views on The Rapture = There is good debate amongst wise people on this subject.
a.) The Post-Tribulation View = This is the view that the Rapture and the Second Coming are the same event.
Romans 11, Revelation 16:1, 1Thessalonians 5:9, Revelation, Daniel 9 and 12, Matthew 24
The descriptions of the Rapture and Second Coming are distinctively different.
b.) The Mid-Tribulation View = The Rapture of the Church happens halfway through the 7-year Tribulation.
Matthew 24:36-44, 1Corinthians 15:51-52
“Immanency” is the idea that Jesus can come for us at any time.
Matthew 24, 1Corinthians 15 and 1Thessalonians 4
Every view must also consider and explain any other passages that may contradict their own view.
c.) The Pre-Wrath View = The Rapture happens midway through the second half of the Tribulation
d.) The Pre-Tribulation View =There is nothing more that needs to transpire in God’s plan before He removes His Church from this world.
The Rapture of the Church ushers in the 7 year Tribulation period.
We know when the Second Coming is; we don’t know when the Rapture is.
John 14:3, Titus 2:13, ICorinthians 1:7, ICorinthians 15:51-53, Revelation 3:10, IThessalonians 4:13-18, Romans 11, Revelation 3-19
Joel 3:12-16, Revelation 19:11-21, Zechariah 14:1-5 and Matthew 24:29-31
Christ could come at any time, and this should compel us to live like Him and for Him.
The Pre-Trib view of the Rapture encourages holy and godly living NOW.
