The worst hypocrisy of all is someone else’s.
How aware are we of our own hypocrisy? How well do we hide our motives from those around us?
1.) Spirit Led Generosity = Acts 4:32-37
Selling everything was not commanded nor compelled.
Selfless generosity runs through the entire Bible.
Luke 6:30-31, Romans 12:17-21
Generosity should come naturally to a Christian.
2.) Spiritual Hypocrisy = Acts 5:1-6
Anything that God begins, satan will oppose.
John 8:44, 2Thessalonians 2:4
Is it any wonder that he would seek to corrupt the very beginning of God’s Church in this world?
Reverently we may venture to say that not only Christ stands at the door and knocks, but that the enemy of Him and His stands there too, and he too enters ‘if any man opens the door.’
What is the face we wear into Church?
What is in our hearts when we come to Church?
Romans 7:21, Genesis 4:7
Truth and hypocrisy live in constant tension within each of us.
Ephesians 4:20-24, Colossians 3:9-10
Your old nature wants to lie.
3.) Hypocrisy Becomes Comfortable = Acts 5:7-11
Matthew 7:5, Luke 6:42, Luke 13:5
We can fool everyone but God.
John 2:24-25, Hebrews 4:11-13
God does not like hypocrisy.
The practice of hypocrisy leads to being comfortable with it.
The first One Who sees our hypocrisy is God, and hypocrisy is a dangerous thing.
