1.) Defining Joy = Vs.10.
Psalm 51:8-9, Ecclesiastes 5:20, Galatians 5:22-23, Hebrews 12:2
“Joy” is the opportunity to rise above circumstances and see things from God’s perspective.
“Happiness” depends on circumstances, joy transcends circumstances.
2.) Joy, the Jesus Way = Luke 2:10.
Matthew 1:18-21, Matthew 20:28, John 3:16
The joy the Bible describes is only available through Jesus.
Galatians 5:22-23, Hebrews 12:2, Romans 8:28, Romans 5:3-5, James 1:2-4
Jesus gives us the opportunity to rise above our circumstances and see a greater purpose in and through all things.
Do you have His joy?
3.) The Great Distraction = Luke 2:6-7.
We cannot separate the baby in the manger from the Savior on the Cross.
Look to Jesus, His forgiveness and restoration, that you would be saved. THEN, and only then, will you have the opportunity to possess and exercise JOY.
Joy is the ability to rise above your circumstances and see all things from His perspective.
We can now see meaning in pain, purpose in suffering, and experience a joy that only He gives.
