1.) Expect It = Nehemiah 2:10, 17-20.
2 Chronicles 36:15-21, 2 Chronicles 36:22-23, Ezra 1:1-4, Matthew 4:1-11 and 17
Jesus established what the battle would be and how it would be fought and won.
Nothing in God’s Kingdom on earth gets built without opposition.
2.) The Sword and Trowel = Nehemiah 4:1-9, 17-18, 19-20.
They carried a sword and a trowel.
As Christians, we should expect spiritual opposition in our lives.
2 Corinthians 10:3-6
A spiritual battle requires spiritual weapons.
Satan may not be able to stop the work, but he can constantly interrupt it.
3.) Battles Within and Without = Nehemiah 5:1-6.
My enemy is not always satan, sometimes it’s ME.
2 Corinthians 11:29, Ephesians 2:1-3, 1 John 2:16
As followers of Jesus, we will struggle with spiritual battles both within and without.
4.) Such a Man as I = Nehemiah 6:1-14.
a.) It’s His identity, not mine = 2 Timothy 1:7
If you are a Christian, you belong to Him.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
b.) It’s His purpose, not mine = Nehemiah 5:15, Nehemiah 2, Nehemiah 6:15-16, Philippians 1:6 and 2:13, Romans 8:28
In Christ, everything works for our good.
c.) It’s His armor, not mine. Ephesians 6:10-13., Ephesians 6:14-18
If I am going to fight and win a spiritual battle, it will only be done His way, with His armor, fighting with His weapons.
Do you know who you are in Christ?
The world, my flesh, and the devil can’t make me do anything.
But I CAN give myself over to their temptations.
