He wants me to surrender all of me to Him.
1.) The Old Pattern = Vs.2.
This is a command to transform a lifestyle.
Ephesians 2:1-3, Galatians 1:4
The world wants very much for you to agree with it.
1Corinthians 6:9-11, 1Peter 1:13-15
This world even wants you to be a Christian the way it tells you to be a Christian.
2.) The New Transformation = Vs.2.
“Obedience” is the outward conforming, and “transformation” is the inward and more fundamental change.
Romans 10:9-10, 2Coritnhains 5:17, Romans 8:29
As a manner or mode of life, we are to be continually transformed by the renewing of our minds.
Titus 3:5b, Ephesians 4:23
“Be” is that state of allowing the Holy Spirit to renew us and our participation in that renewal by not being conformed.
Hebrews 4:12, 2Timothy 3:16-17, Deuteronomy 8:3, Matthew 4:4
God’s Word is to be the staple of our daily diet.
A steady diet of the Word coupled with minute-by-minute surrender to God’s Spirit makes for a renewed mind!
3.) Knowing His Will = Vs.2.
Only a yielded will can desire, discover, or choose God’s Will. If you are clinging to your will, then you will not know His.
Matthew 6:10a and 26:39
To desire His Will is to know His Will is to be enabled to do His Will.
God’s Will for your life is knowable insofar as you want to surrender, not be conformed, and be transformed.
When we voluntarily align ourselves with Him and His purpose, things become clearer.
Are you willing to die to yourself in any and every way, and do you see this as reasonable?
