1.) Lead Spiritually = Ephesians 5:25-33
Ephesians 5:8, Ephesians 5:17-18, Ephesians 5:21
Self-sacrificing (Agape) love puts your spouse ahead of yourself; it puts your focus on what is best for her and the willingness to do whatever it takes to ensure that.
We need to be working with the same definitions of the same words from the same page of the same book at the same time.
What kind of example of spiritual leadership do I show to my wife that conducts her upward in her relationship with Jesus?
This is about leading her into a closer walk with Christ.
Is her relationship with Jesus a priority to you?
2.) Lead Emotionally = 1Peter 3:7
“Learn what makes her tick.”
Your wife needs you to take a genuine, daily interest in her emotional makeup.
Recognize the worth that Jesus gives her.
Different does not refer to value.
Failure to lead her emotionally will cause your prayer life to be hindered.
3.) Lead Physically = 1Corinthians 7:3-4, Ephesians 5:25
What do you do for her with your actions that shouts “I love you”?
What can I do to bless my wife today?
Sex is never to be used as a weapon or bargaining chip.
Hebrews 13:4
Find your delight in pleasing her and you will have more satisfaction than you can imagine!
Colossians 3:19
You have the responsibility to lead her physically, emotionally and spiritually.
If you have to tell her to submit, you have missed the point entirely.
Proverbs 5:19 (NIV)
A Christian husband leads like Jesus; he leads to Jesus; and he leads for Jesus.
