Genesis 3:10, 2Timothy 1:7, Psalm 56:11
God’s Word promises that He has so equipped us that we need not fear anything.
1.) Fear Stops All Forward Progress = Exodus 14:10-15
He had led them into an impossible situation just so He could show Himself strong on their behalf.
2.) Fear Makes You Act Irrationally = 1Kings 19:1-3, Matthew 8:23-27
When fear takes hold, you will not act in faith.
3.) Fear Makes You Give In To Despair = 1Kings 19:14, Matthew 8, Matthew 14:22-32
Have you ever looked at your circumstance and given up hope?
4.) Fear Makes Us Take Our Eyes Off The Lord = Matthew 14:30
Fear will inflate a circumstance beyond its proper perspective and wrench our eyes from where they belong.
It is very hard to keep your eyes on the Invisible One when the visible seems so big.
5.) Clearing Up Misconceptions = Fear can twist our understanding God.
a.) “I am afraid of what might happen.” = Fear of the unknown or known but has not yet happened. Matthew 26:56b
b.) “I am afraid of God punishing me.” = Isaiah 53:4-6
We need to understand the difference between punishment and discipline.
c.) “I am afraid of how God will discipline me.” = Hebrews 12:7-11
Some lessons can only be learned one way.
d.) “I am afraid of my faith being tested.” = James 1:2-3
Nothing without purpose will happen to a believer.
The Bible does not ignore or marginalize the fact that we will have fear.
Don’t think you are alone in your fears.
What anchors your heart, your soul and your mind?
Fear is not from God.
Proverbs 9:10, Romans 8:15, 1John 4:18, Isaiah 53
God’s Word meets us at every turn with an answer to those fears.
The key is prayer.
There will come many times in your walk with Christ that you will need to hold on tighter to God and His Word than you ever have before.
What are you doing with your fear?
